| | Ground Industries Board bag | I brought a Ground industrys board bag for 2 reasons.
1 = generally to make it easier and keep all my pads, board and gear together. So I can just grab the bag and go.
2 = Travel, in the back of the car, airports etc.
You can fit a whole heap of s#!t in it, probably 2 complete boards at a stretch. I had a week of clothes, complete board, helmet pads etc. with heaps of room for more.
So Verdict.
For 1. general, great as it fits a whole heap of stuff. Has 2 nice handles and back pack straps, plus easy access, well built and tough material.
For 2. Travelling. just adequate. the handles are good but it really needs a hip/waist strap when using the back pack straps. I couldn't feel my arms after awhile. The other problem i have with this bag is the zips.
My concern is overseas or travelling by plane. There are 3 zips, 1 is a double zip which is the only good one as you can lock them together. The other 2 zips are problematic as you can not lock them to anything, see what i did above for my last trip in these 2 pics above.
Otherwise a great bag for the price, really, to get a travel bag of this quality you should be paying alot more. It also folds up as a smaller backpack as photo below, but never used this function so can't comment.

| Ground Industries-CONFLICT 106 | Ok,
So hears the deal, This board has the toughest deck on the market, trust me ive snapped 2 comp 16 pro's, 2 ambush's a core 16 a earthboard and numerous others. The whole reason i turned to this board is because i knew the deck would last and be able to handle alot of punishment.
On top of that the board has a pimp graphic and alot of sweet touches it making it stand out from the other boards out there
Deck: Already covered; tough as, best constuction out there
Bindings; Look insane lots of different colour options availible conflict come with red and white. They have so much padding and support plus a really wide top strap and the ratchets and ratchet straps have never failed me unlike the MBS f3's did
Truck; Although they originally had a few probs they have now been ironed out and are now just as good as any other truck on the market, can definatly bomb some massive hills on those cube's no worrys
Hubs; Vegas Hub's, Bout time someone came out with some dope rims. They look trick as and are tough as nails. I was so sick of snaping and warping hubs. These suckers can take anything. So many colour options to choose from too! Why settle for just black plastic?? ??? ???
Tread; Thickest toughest nobbiest tread out there, Maximum traction maximum speed
This is also the lightest ful size pro board on the market by half a kilo
Get on this board.

| Soulfour Soulfighter | I recently purchased a soulfour board from www.soulfour.com.au The model im riding is the soulfighter and its a bit heavier than most of the mbs boards that i tried at the local kitesurfing shop. At first the springs were a bit stiff and made some stiff, straining noises but after i rode it for a few hours it seemed to loosen up and now it feels realy good to ride. The shocks in the springs are solid rubber tubes which do a pretty good job. The deck is also stiffer than the mbs boards. Because of the stiffness and springs it is really good for riding down fast hills and paved roads. Ive been going so fast at times that i think im gonna die but the board is yet to get the speed wobbles. The boards are also a lot cheaper than the mbs boards. I got my soulfighter for $300 but i see that there now upto $350 or something. If you order one make sure you ask the guy to package it up really strongly because my box was in tatters when it arrived. The only thing that i dont like are the bindings. They are just a single velcro strap and they dont seem to work too well when i make tight toe-side turns.

| BIG-W / Target Boards (Maui & Sons) | These boards retail for about $180, so they're awfullly CHEAP. For that, you get a 100cm 9-ply deck, 15" aluminium skate trucks, and 7"x1.5" airliner tyres on 1-piece 5-spoke plastic hubs. All up, the board's about 108cm.
The board is very light - 4.5kgs or there abouts, so pretty good for gettin air and very easy to spin. The slightly shorter length means it also carves really tight, but on the other hand, it isn't all that great for high speeds, and feels a little less stable on landings because of the short wheelbase.
The deck feels ok - has a bit of pop, but it is very stiff. As far as strength goes, it seems fine to me (im 65kg), but if you were over 75kegs and goin big, i reckon you'd pushin it.
The tyres are unfortunately small, and let the setup down a bit; not only over rougher stuff, but in general with respect to speed. i'd much rather a grippier tread on a bigger, wider tyre.
The board didn't come with bindings either (although they're mentioned in the manual), so you can kind of add $45odd to the price for bindings.
In the end, you'd want to decide whether or not you want to take a longer-term perspective and spend upwards of $500 on something bigger, better and not spono by maui n sons. i'm happy enough with mine anyway but with more 2nd hand boards becoming available, they'r probably the way to go if u can get one for around $300. but it at least got me and now a couple mates into the sport, and hopefully they'll get heaps more into it as well.
Overall, they're a competent board, sik value, and probably as light as a board could ever be, so they for airs. but the deck's stiffness makes landings a bit rough so i plan on cuttin the sides down a fair bit and then glassin it up. then it should be sweet..
NB: my board had the trucks placed where you'd put them on a double kick skaty, so you might have to move them to the ends like i did. otherwise, you can't ride it. well done BigW
